Welcome to Art School for Kids - a special project devised and operated by Sofia Modern Art Gallery. The project targets younger artists and offers successful alternatives to extracurricular activities where children are encouraged to use their imagination, learn new skills, explore and experiment, gain confidence and last but not least, have fun and make new friends. People in the Gallery believe that the education of children is a major priority and have therefore invested a lot of time and resources into designing the special cultural and educational curriculum of the School.
The idea behind Art School for Kids was borrowed from some of the most prestigious world museums and galleries. Children aged 3-14 meet in the heart of Sofia for weekend courses where they learn about art and the people who create it. They listen, talk and work in a stimulating artistic environment, surrounded by works of some of the greatest masters of Contemporary art such as Picasso, Dali, Miro, Matisse, Chagall and more. Meeting real artists in person however, is what really makes children excited and motivates them to try even harder. Art School for Kids has conducted several unforgettable meetings between the youngsters and renowned artists from home and abroad, among them Sir Peter Blake, the famous gallerist Paul Stolper, Greddy Assa, Huben Cherkelov.
Courses are held every Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 to 13:00. Younger children aged 3-7 meet on the Saturdays. The Sunday course is reserved for young artists aged 8-14. The groups are small and kids receive individual attention. If you wish to introduce your children to the exciting world of Modern Art, its giants and their techniques, if you want to help your children develop their talents alongside a lifelong passion for Arts, Art School for Kids is the place to come to. At 10 Oborishte Str., Sofia Modern Art Gallery will welcome you and your kids and will guide you through an artistic world of knowledge and creativity.
