Captain Cook Fish Restaurant in Varna opens the gates to a harmonious world of gastronomic adventures seasoned with staggering views of the vast blue sea and a dash of sophisticated sapphire-coloured comfort where every guest is a hero and every dish looks like a chest full of pure gold. This exciting story of delicious food and wine starts at the top floor of the emblematic Varna Naval Station where the restaurant is situated. And here is the preface to it.
There are many pleasant activities that can give you an appetite and make you crave for a nice and tasty dinner, and certainly one of the best is a casual sunset stroll along the flowery alleys of Varna's Sea Garden, which lies in close proximity to Captain Cook Restaurant. Of course, if you are already hungry and don't have time for walks in the park, you can always opt for a quick car ride instead. Once you go through the Naval Station's main entrance and park your car at the parking lot in front of the restaurant you will see a beautiful panoramic elevator, thematically painted in blue. This is your stairway to culinary heaven.
The interior of Captain Cook is stylish, roomy and extremely bright. The wooden ornaments on the walls and ceiling and the crystal chandeliers lend the place a special cosy feel that is further intensified by the soft furniture and the delicate dark blue table cloths on the classic tables. The exotic element in the dining room comes from the decorative fish tanks and the refrigerated glass cases where the seafood delicacies are attractively displayed. Nothing can beat the magnificence of the black grand piano, though. Its sweet and soft voice can be heard every Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
However, you will probably not be able to fully appreciate the splendour of the place unless you get outside on one of the restaurant's two huge terraces. The smaller one overlooks Varna's golden beaches and the open sea, whereas the other offers views of the harbour and the ships docked there. The latter is cool and shady and from it you can actually see all the local fishermen, who take advantage of the Black Sea's abundance and fill their nets with fish daily.
Speaking of fish, there are plenty of them in the restaurant's menu, too. They are always fresh and tender and compete with all the other seafood meals, sushi, Italian pasta and meat specialties served at Captain Cook. Their mouthwatering aromas and extravagant tastes are perfectly complemented by the exquisite bouquets of the wines included in the restaurant's extensive wine list. In conclusion, there is no better way to finish this yummy tale than with a toothsome dessert prepared by the skilled chef himself and brought to you by a member of the excellent waiting staff.
