Description

Our private tour starts at 14:00, when we will pick you from your hotel / accommodation or other point in Sofia. Our first stop will be the famous Boyana Church, a UNESCO heritage site, located in the outskirts of Vitosha mountain. Upon availability, you may enter the church and see the 10th century fresco from inside (ticket costs around EUR 5.00 pp and you need to purchase it additionally). Following Boyana church, we will drive up the mountain towards the Aleko area. On the way, we will stop at Dragalevtsi monastery. The monastery dates back to year 1345 and played an important role in the Bulgarian history. After 16:00 we will arrive at the parking lot near the Aleko hut. Aleko is a recreation area located at 1840 m above sea level. There you will find the Aleko hut, ski facilities (for winter time), some restaurants and hiking trails. A scenic view of Sofia is also presented. We will have 1h of free time, which you can spend as it pleases you - walking in the area or having coffee/snack at the hut. Following, we will drive down to the city of Sofia (approx. 18 km) and drop you off at your hotel/accommodation or other preferred point. The tour will finish around 17:30-18:00. Dress up according to the season. Note temperatures in the mountain are always 5-6 C lower than in the city. Sport & waterproof shoes are recommended. Bring extra jacket to feel comfortable. This activity doesn't not require physical activity and does not include hiking.
