Description

Start with pickup from Sofia and travel for 3 hours to Stara Zagora. Discover the Neolithic Houses of the city, some of the best-preserved prehistorical buildings in Europe. Discover a collection of archaeological artifacts, related to the culture and the religion of the Stone Age people. Next, travel to the Ancient Roman city of Augusta Trayana. Walk on the original Decumanus Maximus and Cardo Maximus at the intersection of the forum, where the city council made important decisions and where gladiator fights took place. Visit the Archeological Museum where you will see the objects, discovered in the city from the Neolithic period, the eras of the Romans and the Thracians, through the Medieval Bulgarian period, and later Ottoman rule. After the museum, visit a Late Roman private home where you will see amazing mosaics made in early Christian style. Explore the Museum of Religions, situated in a former Mosque which survives from the Ottoman Era. Afterward, relax on the trip back to Sofia. Your guide will drop you at your hotel/accommodation in the city.
