Description

Experience the Festival of Lavender in Karlovo on 21.06.2025, an emblematic event in Bulgaria. Enjoy a day of great events and cultural rituals. Choose between the 2 tour options for maximum flexibility. On the 21st of June, head to a lavender field near Karlovo. Take part in a traditional welcome with bread and a lavender harvesting ritual. Next, head to the 20th of July Square for a folklore program with the participation of improvised ensembles and a lavender alley bazaar. Then, make your way to the Bukhalov Khan House for a demonstration of lavender making in an authentic gulpana. Watch a bread kneading demonstration, baking in a 'Podnitsa' clay pot, and tasting. Enjoy a folklore program with a Samodiv dance, a ritual 'Aenian Bull,' and the crossing of the New Year's Wreath (woven from herbs). Taste lavender tea. In the evening, head to the summer cinema for a music program.
